How to Encode and Scan a Barcode Generated Using the Code 128 Font

I am using IDAutomation Code 128 fonts in my ASP.Net application. I can view the barcodes, but am unable to scan them. I believe it is an issue having to do with the start and stop characters.

Please help me with the following:
* How to use an encoder to generate the appropriate start and stop codes.
* How to scan a Code 128 barcode generated using the IDAutomationC128 line of fonts (I am using the ā€˜L’ font). I have used the fonts but unable to read that barcode while scanning.

Another alternative is to use the font and font-encoder route:

Font:
Fonts (be they barcode fonts or standard fonts) are installed on the local machine. To get the user in a browser to be able to see them (since this is a web project), use the Web Open Font Formats, found in the newest version of the Code 128 Barcode Font Package (which might require an upgrade).

Encoder:
The free .NET Barcode Font Encoder Assembly & DLL would be the best choice of barcode font-encoder for a .Net project.

I want to use a font-encoder (like a DLL) which will allow me to use the Code 128 fonts. What would you recommend?

The IDAutomation ASP.NET Barcode Web Server Control is what is recommended in this instance. It is a barcode-generating component that does not rely on barcode fonts, but instead creates a fully-formed barcode in the ASP.Net environment.
