Problem with Code 128 and SSRS 2012 (Font Decreases in PDF Output)

We have a SQL Reporting Server 2012. We have installed the font IDAutomationC128XL.ttf on the server and on the client machines. We are using Code128 barcodes.

When we print the report, on the viewer screen it shows correctly. When we send the report to a virtual to render in PDF format, the barcode shown is smaller and the scanner cannot read them.

Is there any problem using that fonts with the SQL reporting server?

We have tried with IDAutomationC128XL and Demo font IDAutomationSC128XL, and both run wrongly.

Note: A new product (SSRS Native Barcode Generator) has been released since this post was resolved that offers an easier method of generating barcodes in SSRS without fonts or other components.


This is similar to the Crystal Reports issue, Barcode Smaller when Exporting to PDF. Since SQL Reporting Server 2012 is changing the size of the font, you would want to see if there are any patches available.

The problem is that the barcode textbox is printed, but when is printed by a printer or PDF, the barcode is shown as very narrow, and the scanner can't read it.

The textbox is wide and height enough, and when is shown by screen in the report viewer is shown correctly, but not in printer and PDF format.
