code39 crystal report basic syntax issue with + concat

I'm using the Code 39 Fonts with the Font Encoder and rewriting all my Crystal reports (about 100 reports ) from Crystal Syntax to Crystal Basic Syntax to use the native language such as:

if ({RPT_DOC_STD_3.GAU_DESCRIBE} = 'PUR-SE-Stock Entry' or {RPT_DOC_STD_3.GAU_DESCRIBE} = 'PUR-CRN-Control Reception Note')
then
IDAutomationCode39('30'+((ToText ({RPT_DOC_STD_3.DOC_DOCUMENT_ID},0,''))))

and it worked perfectly. Now, the new version in Crystal Basic Syntax returns an unreadable barcode.

if ({RPT_DOC_STD_3.GAU_DESCRIBE} = "PUR-SE-Stock Entry" or {RPT_DOC_STD_3.GAU_DESCRIBE} = "PUR-CRN-Control Reception Note") then
Result_CODE39 = (totext(30,0,""))+(ToText ({RPT_DOC_STD_3.DOC_DOCUMENT_ID},0,""))
formula = Result_CODE39
end if
DataToEncode = Result_CODE39

Any ideas? Thanks for help

Brant	Best Answer In Crystal Basic Syntax, it is best to use & instead of + to concatenate data; try changing that first and see if that resolves the issue. Since we do not have your database, it is difficult to determine the issue. We recommend trying the formula provided in the example and then using a process of elimination to find the solution. If you change DataToEncode = Result_CODE39 to DataToEncode = "TEST" and if it encodes TEXT, the issue is most likely with the Result_CODE39 variable. Posted 91 day(s) ago (0) (0) Report Abuse
