IDAutomation QRCode Font and Encoder Buffer too Small Error

I am creating a crystal report to use the QRCode Font to generate a 2D barcode. I first tested the function using the demo license and everything worked with no issues. I was able to generate the crystal report through our Sage ERP system and the QR code was showing in the crystal reports viewer. Since getting a licensed version of the QRCode Font and Encoder and using the native formula, I am getting the error:
Error 503 Buffer too small for the string or missing null byte
Formulas.setIndex(0) <PEGetNthFormula>
This is when opening the report with the Crystal Reports viewer.

Operating System: Windows 10 X64

Application: Crystal Reports 10 for Sage

It was determined that the report will run with either the ODBC database connection or the QR Code Native Formula, but not both together. The Crystal Viewer may not be able to process enough memory as the Crystal Report does. The QR Code Native Formula requires more internal processing and memory than making a call to the UFL. The solution was to use the UFL instead.

I have not been able to find a newer version of the crystal viewer.
The issue is with the formula only, since I am able to use the UFL driver that is sufficient for me.

Check to see if there are any updates or service packs you can apply to Crystal that may eliminate the error. If that does not work, can you try another version of Crystal Reports?

I can only add pictures and links, I cannot add files to this post

When modifying my report to remove the database connections and send it to you I saw that it was working.
I have determined that the report will run with either my ODBC database connection or the QR function, but not when using both together

Can you attach a report that reproduces this that is using only static data?

Ok, Looks like the issue with the UFL was limited to my test machine. I installed it on a new machine and am able to use the UFL, however, I am still unable to use the example from the samples folder. On the new machine, using the sample with static data I still get a Buffer too small error.

This is when opening the report with the crystal reports viewer.

Make sure the demo is not installed and if so uninstall it. Also, uninstall the purchased version. After that, reinstall the purchased version and reboot. If the problem still occurs after that, try to duplicate the error by taking the example from the examples folder of the product zip file and placing static data in the example.

The UFL also throws an error, "The visual basic UFL that implements this function is missing (or U2Lcom.dll is missing)"
The UFL would be what I used as part of the demo license, but since uninstalling the demo and installing a licensed version Crystal can no longer find the UFL

I can use the formula fine in the designer and preview with static data, but when I move it the application it throws a small buffer error. I have removed all elements in the remote and left just the function with the formula. Perhaps there is a problem with the formula and the crystal viewer?

Are you using the native formula or the UFL formula? Whichever one you are using you could try the other one and let us know if the error still occurs. Also, can you duplicate the error by taking the example from the examples folder of the product zip file and placing static data in the example, and checking to see if the barcode generates?
