IDAutomation.com Universal Font Advantage version 2026 & Crystal Reports

Hi Debrac, See my previous post https://support.idautomation.com/Crystal-Reports-Font-Formulas/Problems-with-Crystal-Reports-Regional-Settings/_4109 When I open Crystal Reports Formulas.rpt from IDAutomation-Universal-Font-Encoder-Developer-ToolsCrystal Reports - Universal I see several functions related to code 128:

What is the one to take when coming from the IDAutomation.com Code 128 Font Adv Package? Regards, Patrick

Hello Patrick,

The functions you see there are not to be used with the Code 128 Barcode Font Package fonts. The functions that have "Uni" in them are for the Universal 1D Barcode Font Package and can only be used with the fonts that have the names on the bottom of the Universal 1D Barcode Font User Manual

Additionally, you are using the Crystal Reports Barcode Font Encoder UFL installation which is a legacy installation that is no loger recommended. IDAutomation recommends that you use the Barcode Font Encoder Formulas for Crystal Reports

The Code 128 font/encoder package and the Universal 1D font/encoder package are not interchangeable, each package has it's own encoding tools that go with it's own fonts.

IDAutomation recommends using the "Auto" Code 128 function for Universal which would be IDAutomation_Uni_C128 but if you need a specific code set, those are available in the functions you see for those code sets. Can you provide information about Code 128?
