PDF417 barcode in Crystal Reports-how to rotate 90 degrees

i have to rotate the 2D image 90 degrees and was wondering what the magic combination of size, and font, etc to make it legible?

Operating System: Windows 7

To rotate the Crystal Reports field that contains text data, use:

1. Right-click the object and select Format Field.

2. Select the Common tab and modify the Text Rotation.

3. Select OK.


4. Apply the desired barcode font and expand the field as necessary. It may not appear as a scannable barcode. However, when it is printed, it will appear correctly.

Here is a helpful KB dealing with font sizes and PDI, from which you may receive general guidelines (it doesn't specifically deal with PDF417, but try some recommended font sizes) to help you determine the right settings.

what is the secret to figuring out how to make the image readable? do i just keep expanding the field until i can see the 2d image? what if i need the image to be smaller when it's vertical than it was when it was horizontal?
