Memory Full Error in Crystal Reports

I am trying to encode for PDF417 via the
CR UFL using the idautomation.pdf417.dll and the IDAutomation2D N5 Regular font

And particularly when my custom UFL method to encode the PDF417 barcode is invoked from the Formula Editor in the Crystal Reports on doing a Report Preview. I get a "Memory Full" error and the entire report does not display.

This specifically happens when the UFL is invoked because the error goes away if the particular UFL method is commented from the Formula Editor.

SAP Crystal Reports Support Forums point to this being a Run-time Error but there seems to be no exception that could be caught at the UFL implementation side and this seems to be happening only specifically for the UFL method.

Also; referred to the following link; which points to updating to a higher version but that doesn't seem to be my case.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise

Application: Crystal Reports - Support Pack 10 (v.13.0.10.1385)

In our PDF417 Font Package, we provide a formula that does not use a UFL to encode data; this is the recommended solution. The font formula solution does not rely on any external dependencies and should generate the barcode without any issues.

Not sure if you received my private message but what is your order number for the package? We have a PDF417 Font Package update coming soon. A Level 2 Support Update will allow you to receive the latest version.

If not, yes, there is a formula that is better suited to encode data as it does not require any external dependencies (less chance of issues occurring). Depending on your order, you may or may not have the formula.

Hello Ben,

Thanks for the response; but are you suggesting that the PDF417 encoding cannot/shouldn't be done via the UFL method(using the idautomation.pdf417.dll and the IDAutomation2D N5 Regular font)?

Our office already has a license to the IDAutomation encoding package which provides the idautomation.pdf417.dll and the IDAutomation2D N5 font.
So; are you suggesting this would not suffice and we will have to license something(PDF Font package) else?

Apart from that I also tried installing the IDAutomation Crystal Reports Linear UFL version 2014 which has some encoding functions(IDAutomationCodeBar, IDAutomationCode11,..) but it does not have a function for PDF417. So; even that approach does not work for me.

Any help would be appreciated.
