GS1-128 Demo Barcodes with Crystal Reports Scannable?

I am attempting to determine if the IDAutomation Code-128 & GS1-128 Fonts are right for what my company is trying to do.
I downloaded the barcode encoder for Crystal Reports 2016 and the demo fonts.
I am trying to create a barcode for an SSCC. I don't need the check digit as I already have a formula for that. I just need the string converted to a barcode.
Example: 00008513720060749279
// I tried using the font "BCW_Code128_3"
IDAutomation_Uni_C128 ("00008513720060749279", false)
// IDAutomation_Uni_C128 ({HDXPalletLabel.SerialNo}, false)
I have tried various formulas. While the barcodes look correct (most of the time) however, the barcode isn't scannable with any of our scanners. I would have thought given the nature of barcodes that it would be scannable even with the "DEMO" text.

Make sure the font selected is IDAutomation GS1 or IDAutomation Uni. The other font you mention will not work.
The demo barcodes should be scanned. Make sure the font is tall enough. If you think it is the scanner, you can download the IDAutomation Decoder scanner app and use that for testing.
