Resolved Questions

We purchased PDF417 2d barcode and it has worked without issues, we recently purchased GS1 2d and it is messing up our PDF417 barcodes.

We purchased PDF417 2d barcode and it has worked without issues, we recently purchased GS1 2d and it is messing up our PDF417 barcodes. We are using this in a crystal report label. We have the Crystal UFL installed etc. As I stated before, we have been printing PDF417 labels for 2 years with no issues. Are the encoders fighting each other, or do we need a specific setup so the 2 versions don't cause a failure?

Operating System: windows 7

Application: crystal reports

The UFL/dll files of the PDF417 Font and Encoder Suite and the GS1-DataMatrix Font and Encoder Suite are completely different and do not interfere with each other. In fact, the Data Matrix Package includes a formula to format/encode the data and does not require the UFL. Both packages can use the same font file, IDAutomation2D. There is absolutely nothing that would cause conflict when two or more 2D Font Packages (QR Code, PDF417, Aztec, Data Matrix, MaxiCode) are installed.

We have used PDF417 for over a year with no issues. We added a customer who required GS1 2d, so we purchased the GS1 Suite. Once loading this to our server, our crystal report labels lost the font for our PDF417 and all satellite facilities could not ship to our largest customer. We had to go to all servers and re-install the fonts, encoders, and crystal FUL, then reboot until it actually started working again. What specific setup do we need to know or have so this doesn't happen again if we ever need another purchased font or encoder?

The PDF417 Font and Encoder Suite and the GS1-DataMatrix Font and Encoder Suite are two different packages that do not use the same encoders.
