Data Matrix is not working in Excel, but had been previously

I have a datamatrix code set up. This worked previously, however, not sure what happened or changed, but when I edit the value to be coded - the incorrect code pops out " bad DM code.jpg". I was able to try a different version of the encoding, but it is also not working. The text is as follows: ~1~d049~d009~d009~d009~d009~d009~d009
Yes, it's a 1 then a bunch of tabs.
the code for the encoding uses the expression: =@EncDM(M262,1,3,0)

The value of this version looks different than the first, see "second example.jpg"
