Help with Data Matrix 2D Barcode on MAC for InDesign

I'm looking for help with a 2D Barcode (Data Matrix) on a MAC. We have the 2D font installed. We are looking for help with creating and setting up a MAC in Excel, the proper steps so when we save the CSV we can then merge it into InDesign. I feel we are missing multiple steps here. I think we are missing a step or 2 in the Excel portion. Thank you.

debrac	Best Answer The generation of a Data Matrix barcode and subsequent merging of the data to InDesign is a complicated process. First, your data will need to be encoded which can be done in Excel and is fairly straightforward. The merge to InDesign is where things will become more difficult because there are invisible line breaks in the encoded data which makes the square symbol that needs to be changed over to visible characters for the merge and then changed back to their invisible characters to complete the barcode. There are two tutorials that should help you with this: 1. For the encoding piece in Excel which is a good tutorial for both Windows and Mac: How to encode Data Matrix Barcodes using VBA in Excel. 2. After you have your data encoded, here is a tutorial for the 2D barcode merge to InDesign: How to Create 2D barcodes in InDesign using Fonts and this tutorial picks up after Step 9 of the first tutorial. The merge is a complicated process and unfortunately, IDAutomation cannot support the merging of the data to InDesign directly but the second tutorial listed above has worked for previous customers. If the import to InDesign and changing the visible back to invisible characters isn’t working correctly, you would need to reach out to InDesign for assistance with that portion.
