How to apply a border around a Data Matrix code in MS Word?

Hi.
I would like to apply a border around a 2D datamatrix code at a specified distance.

For example, I have a Format 9 code with a module size of 0.5mm
I would like to draw a box that is 1mm away from the edge of the code with a line weight of 3pt.

I have tried inserting the format 9 as a picture, cut and pasted it in.
I still am unable to apply a border correctly, if at all.

I have tried generating the code in Excel in design mode and copying it into Word, I have used the barcode generator without success.

Can anyone help?

It appears or sounds like an easy task but I have drawn a blank.

Operating System: Windows 7

Application: Excel, word

IDAutomation does not have a direct solution to create a border using the ActiveX Control or Barcode Fonts. However, Microsoft Word should have to ability to apply a border. The best solution is to investigate the Help option within Word. Assistance from Microsoft on how to manipulate the border around a font (Data matrix Font) or image (ActiveX Control) may be required.
