No Group Separator Before A Variable Application Identifier Using DataBar

I have made a DataBar barcode using the following Application Identifier (AI) and data combinations:

• AI 01 (fixed – 14 numbers) – data: 09501101530003
• AI 37 (variable – up to 8 numbers) – data: 12345678
• Type: DataBar Expanded with 4 segments

Combined data: (01)09501101530003(37)12345678

Using the IDAutomation Barcode Generator as a Service (SaaS) Subscription, we generated the following DataBar barcode (click to see the URL in a browser):

When I scan it, I cannot see the group separator characters (like when I scan GS1-128 barcodes).

Can you give me some advice?

Operating System: Windows, Mac, Linux, and Unix

Application: Any

Using an unnamed 3rd party verifier, the barcode scans with the following data:

{
"Parser": "GS1",
"Version": "0.1.0",
"Status": "Success",
"Fields": [
{
"ID": "01",
"Description": "Global Trade Item Number (GTIN)",
"Value": "09501101530003",
"Type": "String"
},
{
"ID": "37",
"Description": "Count of Trade Items",
"Value": "12345678",
"Type": "String"
}
],
"Error": {
"Error Message": "Success",
"Error Code": 0
}
}

Given the above, a barcode scanner (such as the IDAutomation SC7-USB barcode scanner) would properly decode the barcode as:

]e001095011015300033712345678

The above shows the identifying/initial FNC1 (]e0) prescribed by GS1, but you will not receive an additional group separator (FNC1) character before each variable AI (as you would in a GS1-128 decoded scan). This is in compliance with GS1 specifications (see the GS1 documentation for more information).

Note: Although the above was provided to help clients, IDAutomation does not provide verification services.
