Some Barcodes Have Unwanted Spaces in them

I have just installed the Code 128 Font Advantage package. When generating barcodes using the Excel VBA macros, some barcodes have embedded spaces in the Human readable text, although the barcode itself seems to scan OK. Examples of codes that are OK

ME01C1, ME01A1, ME01A2

Those which produce embedded spaces

ME01D1, ME01E1

That is, those with Dn or En, where n is a digit

The above examples would appear as

ME 01 D1
ME 01 E1

ME01DA is normal

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ron Ventura

2016 Update: A new product (Native Barcode Generator for Excel) has been released since this question was resolved that offers an easier method of generating barcodes in Excel.

I believe Code-128 Font space you are referring to is the check digit or character set switch character. Character set switch characters have no printable characters associated with them. They are used between number pairs to create a smaller barcode in the Code128() method. If you encode the data using the Code128b() method, the switching characters will no longer appear.

To print the human-readable data without this issue, use the fonts beginning in IDAutomationC128 and print the data encoded below the barcode as a separate field.
