Using Carriage Returns or Tabs in Code 39


Hello:
I'm trying to create a Code 39 barcode in Excel which include multiple values, for example, a part # and quantity issued. When I scan the barcode into another application, I would like the first value to be entered into the first field, a carriage return to be performed to move to the next field, and the second value to be entered into the second field. Is there any way to achieve this?

You can use Extended Code 39 to encode functions. However, it would be more area efficient and easier to use Code 128 to encode functions instead. In Code 128 Set A, encode the letter “i” for a tab and “m” for a return.
