Adding barcodes to an Access Report

Hi

I have purchased and downloaded the font, and I am trying to add a barcode to a report generated in Access. THe client has requested we present the following text string in a GS1-128 barcode.....

(241)S01-1-013-BK (10)AY010118

I can see you have some VBA functions that encode the text, and i can apply the barcode font, but i am running into problems.

Can you confirm how i should include the above text, so it produces a barcode that is readable by his scanners please? Do i pass the text through your function as is, or do i need to add any additional characters. Your example has tilde characters etc, my text doe not!

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated

Best Regards

NIck

Hello Nick,

The instructions for setting up the VBA macro encoding which will be required for GS1 Code 128 are here: How to Create GS1-128 Barcodes in Access using the GS1 Font Suite. Once you have the barcodes themselves set up in Access, what will make the barcode GS1 compliant and therefore a GS1-128 barcode will be the use of the "Apply Tilde" parameter and the data structure to include the application identifiers.

Additional information for data structure for GS1-128 can be found here: GS1-128 Barcode FAQ & Tutorial

Looking at the example data provided, there are dashes in it and GS1-128 would not normally include any dashes, so I recommend that you verify with your customer what the data should be and if it should include dashes. You can certainly encode the data with the dashes in it and it will scan as a GS1-128 as long as you have the FNC1 entered at the start of the data string as per the tutorial.
