Unknown Exception In .Net DLL

We use an IDAutomation .Net Windows Forms DLL to generate encoded text (using the 2D Barcode Font) in our application (which uses multithreading).

Recently, we have had a very rare issue – here are the exception details:

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (0x80004005): Error creating window handle.
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.CreateHandle(CreateParams cp)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateHandle()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.get_Handle()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateGraphicsInternal()
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.CreateGraphics()
at IDAutomation.Windows.Forms.DataMatrixBarcode.DataMatrixBarcode.b()

I do not think it is anything wrong with your DLL. Is it multithread-capable?

Operating System: Windows Server

Application: Visual Studio

[Support Note: Order number added to post details]

The DLL you specified is the .NET Windows Forms Control, which does support multithreading. The issue you are encountering is most likely because the older version (which you have) is based on .Net 1.1, whereas the updated version is based on .Net 2.

The immediate suggestion is to try the latest demo and see if you still encounter the issue. If not, then you know that an upgrade* would be advised.

*The upgrade license must match the original Unlimited Developer license.

Thank you for your answer.

We are using idautomation.datamatrix.dll, version 7.11.0.0.

The fully-qualified name for the function is:
IDAutomation.Windows.Forms.DataMatrixBarcode.DataMatrixBarcode.FontEncode()

Can you give the exact file name of the DLL you are using?
