Does QR Code Font Encoder require local install of fonts

When embedding QR Code Font Encoder into SSRS reports do the fonts used still need to be installed on the local machine that is running the report? If so is there a way around this requirement?

Hello Gordy,

Yes, if you are using the SSRS Barcode Font Encoder then the font will need to be installed on the local machines running the report in order for the barcodes to be visible. The Developer license does come with silent installers you can use for this purpose.

If installing fonts is not an option you can consider our SSRS Barcode Generator for Reporting Services which would not require custom font installation.

My apologies for misunderstanding your question. The licenses are not named and you can transfer them from one user to another. There are no license keys for activation either. So if you have 10 developers but only one is developing the SSRS report at a time, a 1 Developer license will suffice. If you have 4 developers working at one time, you would want the 2-5 Developer license.

Sorry to be a pest, but I just want to make sure I understand the license. If I purchase a 1 developer license does that mean only I can use it as a named user, or that only one developer at a time can use it but multiple developers can share it so long as they are not using it at the same time?

Thanks again I really appreciate the help!

The Developer licenses will cover downstream users as part of the license. The use of any of our products in SSRS will require the Developer license or higher and there is a licensing matrix located here for the barcode generator: License Summary for IDAutomation's Barcode Generators and here for the QR Font/Encoder package: License Summary for IDAutomation's Barcode Fonts

Thanks for the answer That is what I needed to know. One other question. Are you developer-named or concurrent licenses?

Thanks again,
Gordy
