Barcodes do not scan without the asterisks

These barcodes are 11 digits with assorted two letters on the end of the string. Usually ending with an AA or AB.

Example:
12345678909AA

I need to generate this data to barcodes so I can use a general USB barcode scanner to scan them. They only work when I put an * symbol in front and at the back of the codes. Is there a way around this?

It is not possible for a font to do it automatically. As mentioned in the previous response, you can either use a font encoder, even our Font Encoder Application. If this is not a solution, your application may have a way of appending asterisks to the data. If not, then the only option is to manually add the asterisks.

I work in a warehouse. And we receive orders with the corresponding barcode id on the shipping manifest.
Below is the manifest layout. It has a barcode id, customer name, address, and value. I want to generate these orders' barcodes before the orders arrive at our warehouse.
Address Bag ID Amount
Jgepointe Pkwy 29848140401AA 150 00
Jgepointe Pkwy 29848140401AB 900.00
These are code 39 barcodes. So I just need to figure out how to turn these ids into barcodes.
Right now I have to manually add asterisks in front and in the back of the id's. (*29848140401AB*) How can I get your font to do this automatically?

If you are encoding Code 39, it will depend on the application that you are using. We have font encoders available here that will automatically append the asterisks. If we do not have a font encoder for your application, then you will need to research how to append data within your application.

How can I enable the idautomation font to automatically add the asterisk in front, and back of the barcode sequence?
2982680801AA is the barcode data sequence I receive. I then copy this to Excel or Word. I use the idautomation font to change to a barcode. But it does not scan. If I use the keyboard to add the asterisks and then change to a barcode. It will scan. I just want the asterisks added automatically to enable me to scan.

The scanner has a way to add asterisks automatically. But It won't scan. So I am dependent on the font to do it. Before I change the numeral sequence to a barcode.

What barcode type are you attempting to create? Code 39? Code 39 is the only symbology that uses asterisks as start/stop characters. If you are generating another barcode type such as Code 128, it will require a font encoder to format your data.
