How do I create an SSCC18 Barcode using the Fonts and Font Formulas for Crystal Reports?

I have the data (00)00801234999999999 and I need to generate a check digit for SSCC18. What do I do?

First, review the video tutorial or manual on how to install and use the Font Formulas for Crystal Reports.

Download and install the IDAutomation Code 128 Barcode Fonts.

SSCC18 or SSCC-18 is a standard that uses the Code 128 barcode symbology. Code 128 Therefore, we will want to use the code from the file named IDAutomation_Formula_Code128Auto located in the Crystal Font Formulas folder in your Code 128 Font Package zip.

The new Code 128 Font Package (2014 and later) includes the formula within the Integration folder:

In this example, I will create the SSCC18 using a hard-coded value. Paste the code from the Code 128 Auto file into your own report. If you need assistance, follow the tutorial or manual (Don't forget to change the syntax from Crystal Syntax to Basic Syntax).

To encode the data, set ApplyTilde = True. Then set the DataToEncode = "~2120000801234999999999~m17" OR you can use parentheses to identify the FNC and AIS:
DataToEncode = "(00)00801234999999999~m17"

The ~212 identifies a two-digit FNC or AI. For three digits, use ~213. For four digits, use ~214, etc.

The ~m17 runs a calculation on 17 digits to calculate the 18th digit (the check character). If the check digit is already calculated, then it is not necessary to add the ~m17.
