Resolved Questions

What is the best formula to generate EAN 128 using C128?

Hi,

Apologies as this question might not be phrased very well since I have limited knowledge of barcodes.

We are looking to generate EAN128 barcode labels in Crystal. We have downloaded the C128 font advantage package and the Crystal UFL tool.

Our barcode is formulated in the following way
IDAutomation_Uni_C128ApplyTilde("Application Identifier" + {database field for code} & "Application Identifier" + ToText({databse field for bb date},"ddMMyy")))

For some reason, this is not being read in the scanners.

Is IDAutomation_Uni_C128ApplyTilde the best prefix here to convert to EAN 128 or should some function like: IDAutomation_Uni_C128C be used instead?

Is (IDAutomationC128XXL[Western]) the right font to use taking into account it meets specified height and width requirements?

Any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Brian

The Code 128 Font Advantage Package contains standard Code 128 Barcode Fonts. To encode data using the UFL for the standard Code 128 Font, please use the formula IDAutomation_Code128ApplyTilde (DataToEncode) instead of the Universal Formula. This should resolve the issue.
