Due to the requirement by Google to update SSL certificates to use a newer algorithm called “SHA256″, users that are still on Windows XP prior to SP3, Windows 2000 or Windows 5 NT will not be able to access the store.

SHA256 is not supported by PCs running Windows 2000/NT5 or Windows XP before Service Pack 3. Therefore, those users using Internet Explorer 6, 7 or 8 on Windows XP who have not updated to SP3 can’t use SHA256.

The following browsers/OS are compatible:

Desktop Browsers

Internet Explorer 7 and later on Windows Vista and later
* Internet Explorer (any version) on Windows XP does not support SNI

Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and later

Opera 8.0 (2005) and later
* TLS 1.1 protocol must be enabled

Google Chrome:
Supported on Windows Vista and later
Supported on Windows XP on Chrome 6 and later
Supported on OS X 10.5.7 on Chrome v5.0.342.1 and later

Safari 2.1 and later
Supported on OS X 10.5.6 and later
Supported on Windows Vista and later

Mobile Browsers:

• Mobile Safari for iOS 4. and later
• Android default browser on Honeycomb (v3.x) and later
• Windows Phone 7
