Due to the requirement by Google to update SSL certificates to use a newer algorithm called “SHA256″, users that are still on Windows XP prior to SP3, Windows 2000, or Windows 5, NT will not be able to access the store.

SHA256 is not supported by PCs running Windows 2000/NT5 or Windows XP before Service Pack 3. Therefore, those users using Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8 on Windows XP who have not updated to SP3 can’t use SHA256.

The following browsers/OS are compatible:

Desktop Browsers

Internet Explorer 7 and later on Windows Vista and later
* Internet Explorer (any version) on Windows XP does not support SNI

Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and later

Opera 8.0 (2005) and later
* TLS 1.1 protocol must be enabled

Google Chrome:
Supported on Windows Vista and later
Supported on Windows XP on Chrome 6 and later
Supported on OS X 10.5.7 on Chrome v5.0.342.1 and later

Safari 2.1 and later
Supported on OS X 10.5.6 and later
Supported on Windows Vista and later

Mobile Browsers:

• Mobile Safari for iOS 4. and later
• Android default browser on Honeycomb (v3.x) and later
• Windows Phone 7
