Datamatrix Rectangular format encoding question/Datamatrix Image Generator V2013.1

Hi, I am trying to encode the following string as a Datamatrix using the Barcode Image Generator.
010036380710001517150218101234567
In one of the following formats:
C12x26, C12x36 (preferred) or C16x36

When I try to do this, it reverts to C24x24

It does encode as C16x48, but I prefer to use one of the other rectangular formats,
Can you help with this?
Thanks,
Steve

In many cases, the amount of data that can be encoded is decreased due to mode switching between different types of characters, such as between numbers, upper case, lower case, and punctuation. If the data exceeds the size of the symbol, then the next larger size symbol is automatically generated. Some modes will generate larger symbols because of the mode-switching characters that need to be encoded. Therefore, if you have the Auto setting for the Preferred Format, it will generate the most efficient barcode. If you set it to C12x38 and it changes into another format, then this is the best-case scenario barcode. In your case, the C16 X48 can hold the amount of data you are encoding.

The Preferred Format/Symbol Format chart is not completely accurate as it only considers products that use compression (which allows the data to fit into smaller symbol sizes). IDAutomation products do not use compression.
