Font not scanning in Quark / MS Word IDAutomationUPCEANL

Hi, we purchased IDAutomation UPC EAN Fonts many years ago and they have been working fine until recently for generating UPC barcodes for our DVD products.

I can look at older DVD covers that I have printed as recently as 6 months ago and the font scans just fine using IDAutomationUPCEANL (w qrafter)

I primarily use MacBook Pro, OS 10.14.6, and Quark Express 15.2.1 for designing the DVD covers, but as a test, I used MS Word with the same results. Same with saving the Quark file as a pdf. Qrafter does not recognize the barcode.

Operating System: 10.14.6

Application: Quark 15.2.1

Best Answer

UPC and EAN fonts require special formatting so that the barcode will be properly generated when the font is applied. Over 30 font encoders are provided for this purpose. For the Mac, you may want to use the online font encoder.
