Resolved Questions

Unable to generate barcode image on server with IDAutomation.LinearServerControl.LinearBarcode.

I am unable to generate a barcode image on my server with IDAutomation.LinearServerControl.LinearBarcode. The same thing works on my local server.

Here is the whole error msg:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException (0x80004005): A generic error occurred in GDI+.
at System.Drawing.Image.Save(String filename, ImageCodecInfo encoder, EncoderParameters encoderParams)
at IDAutomation.LinearServerControl.LinearBarcode.x()

What should be the setting permission on my server to generate the image? I have given full access rights where the folder is creating the images but still, it's not creating images.

Operating System: Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit

Application: Visual studio 2010 and asp.net

Bhavin,

If it is not a permission issue, then it is probably something else. Oh, make sure you set permissions for the project folder that uses your control. I think that permissions will be allowed for all subfolders.

The error System.Runtime.InteropServices.ExternalException (0x80004005): might be related to something else. You may want to try a search on the MSDN.

Hello,
Can u guide me in detail on how to give rights/permission?
"Full Control to the ASPNET" does that mean to give rights to specific folders?
Which folder do we need to give full control to?
I tried giving full access control to IIS_IUser and in fact, I also tried giving all users full access control by doing right click --> edit permission --> Security --> and Permission to authenticated users.
But the above step also didn't work for me.
Can u please explain in detail if I am giving rights in the wrong way?

Try granting permissions, Full Control to the ASPNET. If that does not work, review the Microsoft article.
