ID Automation barcode 128 for Oracle reports Java packages (issue with the barcode scan)

Hi Support team,

We recently bought the ID automation barcode for Oracle reports.
https://www.idautomation.com/cart/IDAutomation-Java-Linear-Barcode-Package-P557.aspx
Item #: IDA25

Barcode 128 (Image) is embedded into the Oracle paper layout reports. It generates the barcode and scans but the problem is

- It does not scan consistently. at times we needed to scan twice or more to get to one good scan
- It scans slowly, not instant.
- I see the same timestamp with the demo and licensed version .Jar files (Is this okay), how do differentiate the licensed vs demo versions

Here is the code we use in the reports formula to generate the barcode 128. Please advise, what is the issue here.

function CF_engraving_textFormula return Char is
/*name of temp file. For 1D barcodes, set to VarChar2(250). For 2D barcodes, set to VarChar2(500).*/
ImageFile VarChar2(250);
/*object containing barcode properties*/
BarcodeObject ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
/*object that creates jpeg of barcode based on BarcodeObject*/
BarcodeEncoderObject ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
begin
/*Get a temporary file name for the jpeg*/
/*On Solaris Unix, use the following code to create the temp file: ImageFile := srw.create_temporary_filename() || '.jpg'; */
if :CS_engraving_text is not null then
imageFile := srw.create_temporary_filename();
/*Create the barcode object. This example uses the LinearBarCode.jar*/
BarcodeObject := BarCode.new();
/*Set the symbology. This property setSymbologyID is only valid for the LinearBarCode.jar*/
BarCode.setSymbologyID(BarcodeObject, BarCode.CODE128);
/*set the data to encode*/
BarCode.setDataToEncode(BarcodeObject, to_char(:CS_engraving_text));
/*Create the jpeg*/
BarcodeEncoderObject := BarcodeEncoder.new(BarcodeObject, 'JPEG',ImageFile);
/*If, for some reason, the barcode is not created, return null
otherwise, return the name of the barcode image jpeg that was
created */
if ORA_JAVA.IS_NULL(BarcodeEncoderObject) then
return(NULL);
else
return(ImageFile);
end if;
else
return(NULL);
end if;
end;

Thanks

Verify the barcode is printed correctly. Increase the size of the
Java Component in Oracle Reports. Test print to a different printer.
