Image Generator: unhandled exception has occurred in your application


I am using the Barcode Image Generator (DataBar Image Generator) and when I use UPCa, UPCe, DataBar Truncated, etc., the program crashes and I receive the error:

An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.

As of 8/18/2011, the error may occur in the Image Generator if the .NET Framework 1.1 is not installed. Although, there may be other versions of the Framework installed, such as 4.0 Client Profile, a component of the application requires Framework 1.1.

1.
Shut down the Image Generator.

2.
Download the .NET Framework from Microsoft at:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=26

3.
Once the Framework is downloaded, run the install.
If you receive the error:
"This program has known compatibility issues"
continue the installation by selecting Run Program.
