Does the Java Barcode Package support the addition of a logo in the center of a 2D QR Code symbol?

You are right, the Java Barcode Package generates the barcode symbol. If you wish to add an external logo .jpg, .png, or other image type to the center of the QR Code, you will need to overlay the image on top of the QR Code that is generated from the Java Barcode Package. This should be a function of the software that is used to display the barcode. Within this software, you should be able to size and place the logo over the generated image. When you do this make sure you move the logo to the front and move the barcode image to the back.

Meaning if we wish to add an external logo .jpg/.png to the center of the QR Code, we'll have to overlay the image on the generated QR Code from the Java Barcode Package library ourselves, The Java Barcode Package library does not actually support the overlaying of an external logo in .jpg/.png to the QR Code.

Yes, if you specify the ~CO parameter in the data to encode in the Java Barcode Package library, you will be able to achieve the Center Override. The ~CO parameter does not overlay graphics. For more information about how this works, review the Center Override FAQ.

You can add a graphics logo image to your barcode by placing it on top of the printed or displayed barcode. Just keep in mind that this logo image is not generated along with the barcode and is not considered a part of the barcode generation component.

Does it mean that if we specify ~CO parameter as data to encode (i.e. via this method) in the Java Barcode Package library, we will be able to achieve the Center Override?

How does the ~CO parameter work when the logo we wish to add is an external .jpg/.png file?

The latest version of the Java Barcode Package includes a version of Image Overlay as Center Override with the ~CO parameter. An actual logo image could also be used after the symbol is generated by overlaying it where it is being printed or displayed, however, this overlay is not part of the barcode generation component.
