How to create a QR code with transparent background with the Java library


Is it possible to set the background color to transparent?

I use qrCode.setBackground(color) and pass a white color object whose alpha is set to 0 (which means it's transparent). Yet I still get a nontransparent background. Is there a way to get a completely transparent background?

Olivier,

I am not sure how this can be done. The source code on how the background is set is fairly straightforward.
Here is the setBackground property.
public void setBackground(Color newColor)
{
backColor = newColor;
invalidate();
}
And then the backColor variable is used by a graphics object to set the actual color.
Graphics g=g2;
g2.setColor(backColor);
g2.fillRect(0,0,this.getSize().width,this.getSize().height);

You may need to use the getTransparency() method of the Color object. with gets the transparency mode for the Color.
