PDF417 2D barcode displays spaces in BI Publisher

We are trying to implement PDF417 2D barcode in BI Publisher.
We were using the DEMO java class and font from IDAutomation_PDF417FontEncoderDEMO.

As it is DEMO font first it displays the word "DEMO" and after that it displays encoded data.

When we are trying to encode just an order_number (ex. 11514883) it looks ok.
when we scan it, it shows
DEMO
11514883

But when we are trying to encode something more complex it doesn't seams to work.
it splits the barcode into multiple pieces and when we scan it, it shows "DEMO and hieroglyphs".

Is there something wrong with the Encoder class, that doesn't allow it to encode information correctly?
How can we fix it?
It stops us from buying PDF417 because we are not sure that it will work.

Check BI Publisher to see if there is an option to decrease the spacing between lines for the PDF417 encoded data.
