How do I avoid losing hidden characters when trying to scan

Greetings, I am experiencing some frustrations with data matrix barcodes. Our Data Matrix barcodes are encoded in our WMS system. The barcodes scan very well with the proprietary scanner, however, I would like to use a tethered scanner to scan the barcode and generate the data in a simple text field. The barcode data does in fact generate however, it reads the 2d barcode as being invalid. The scanner recognizes the barcode as being absolutely correct. The scanner removes the "hidden" or "embedded" characters from the data thread and the result is a barcode that is not recognized. Do you have a software solution that will give me more control over the parameters of my 2d imager scans? Thanks in advance for any help or support you may be able to offer. Your website is a wealth of knowledge.

Operating System: Windows 7

Application: Internet explorer thinclient WMS based

Decoding data whether it is hidden characters or not, is ultimately up to the scanner. Of course, you must use an application that can decode hidden characters such as the ASCII Scanner Decoder. We have many barcode products that allow you to encode functions and hidden characters.
