Barcode converting characters to #

Using the Code 39 Barcode Font Package (specifically with the human-readable text underneath the barcode), we need to generate barcodes for the following text in Excel:

.018/01.750/COIL/SL/1006/1010 DQ

The formula in the cell is:

*.018/01.750/COIL/SL/1006/1010_DQ*

The barcode scans as:

018/01.750#OIL3L/1006/1010 DQ

Issues:
1. The # should be /C
2. Need a way to encode spaces without having to use a replacement character (like =).

Operating System: Windows

Application: Excel

As shown in the How to Encode Parentheses in Code 39 Post, Code 39 allows for special functions to be encoded in the data (of non-extended fonts). The simple solution for both issues presented would be to use the Code 39 Extended Fonts*, which are not installed automatically.

*The recommendation is to:

· Completely remove all Code 39 fonts from the system.

· Re-extract the original download and manually install the fonts found in the IDAutomation_C39FontAdvantage.zip in the IDAutomation_C39FontAdvantage Fonts with Barcode Symbol in Space Character Extended 39 folder.

· Once installed, restart all programs (or the computer).

· Use the fonts with the names beginning in IDAutomationXHC39 (for the human-readable version) and IDAutomationXC39 (without human-readable). The space character will then not need to be encoded with any other characters, but simply by using space (and be able to represent /C), like *AB/C 123*.
