Need to create Data Matrix C40 Encoding for C26xC26 Preferred Format

I'm encountering an issue using the C40 encoding with the 2D Datamatrix Encoder for .NET, specifically IDAutomation.Windows.Forms.DataMatrix.

I was able to create a C26xC26 using the ASCII encoding.
encoded = barcode.FontEncode(cavBarcode, false, DataMatrixBarcode.EncodingModes.Ascii, DataMatrixBarcode.PreferredFormats.C26X26);

I changed the encoding to C40 and now get a C32xC32
encoded = barcode.FontEncode(cavBarcode, false, DataMatrixBarcode.EncodingModes.C40, DataMatrixBarcode.PreferredFormats.C26X26);

What I need is a C26xC26 output. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Thanks,

Gary

In many cases, the amount of data that can be encoded is decreased due to mode switching between different types of characters, such as between numbers, upper case, lower case, and punctuation. If the data exceeds the size of the symbol, then the next larger size symbol is automatically generated. Some modes will generate larger symbols because of the mode-switching characters that need to be encoded.
