Explanation of parameters for .NET Barcode Generator

Hello,
We have read your documentation for the barcodes found https://www.idautomation.com/barcode-components/dotnet-standard/user-manual/
but for some barcodes, there are some uncertainties:

For Code128:
BarHeight - Defines the height of each bar. -> can you tell us in which units is this?
For DataMatrix:
Format - Represents the various sizes of the symbol. -> can you tell us in which units is this (or how we are to think about this)?
For PDF417:
NumColumns - The number of columns in the PDF417 barcode. -> what happens if set to 0?
NumRows - The number of rows in the PDF417 barcode.. -> what happens if set to 0?

Thank you in advance

Hello Miroslav,

For Reference there is a full listing of parameters here: Barcode Properties Glossary and in answer to your specific questions:

1) Bar Height
The height of the bars in the barcode, usually measured in centimeters (CM). 2.54 CM equals one inch.
Common values are:
1 CM = .4 inches
1.27 CM = .5 inches (commonly used for GS1-128)
1.905 CM = .75 inches
2.54 CM = 1 inch
3.175 CM = 1.25 inches

2) Data Matrix Format Table The format you choose should you choose to set one other than automatic which will increase in size based on the amount of data you have in the barcode and the encoding mode you have set, you can use this table to determine which format works best for you.
From the Properties link:
Within Data Matrix, set the preferred format as represented by a number. Valid values are (-1 for automatic) and from 0 (10X10) to 23 (144X144) and from 24 (8X18) to 29 (16X48). This will be automatically increased if the size of the symbol chosen is too small.

3) PDF417 Column and Row Limits PDF417 must have some columns and rows in order to generate the barcode. Setting these values to 0 is a default setting that will use the necessary rows and columns to generate the barcode, it is not setting the barcode to have 0 rows/columns
