Text encoded in PDF417 being cut off around 1000+ characters? (.Net Windows Forms Control & DLL Demo)

I'm demoing the .Net Windows Forms Control and DLL to create jpgs of PDF417 barcodes. It seems like when I encode a large amount of text (1040 characters), generate a PDF417 barcode, and then scan it, some of the text at the end doesn't show up.

I know the FAQ says there's a limitation of around 800 characters, but the demo code (PDF417 Image generator) that came with the demo is able to create barcodes with 1040+ characters. Have I reached a limitation or am I doing something wrong?

For reference, here is my code:
static void Main(string[] args)
{

string query = "*insert 1032 characters here*";
CreateBarcodeJpg(query, "test1.jpg");
}

static void CreateBarcodeJpg(string dataToEncode, string filename)
{
IDAutomation.Windows.Forms.PDF417Barcode.PDF417Barcode barcode1 = new IDAutomation.Windows.Forms.PDF417Barcode.PDF417Barcode();
barcode1.DataToEncode = dataToEncode;
barcode1.PDFColumns = 0;
barcode1.SaveImageAs(filename, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg);
}

Operating System: Windows 10

Application: Visual Studios Professional 2013

Encoding more than 800 characters is not recommended in standard PDF417 - see the Data Limit for PDF417 post for more details.
