Need a barcode with Space character

Just wondering if anyone else has done this before. We have order fillers with RF/scanners and they scan a product label (scanner has postamble carriage return), then have to press space or enter on the rf. What I would like to do is have a barcode with space and enter (separate barcodes) so that they can just scan it instead of having to press the key. (standard 1d barcodes c39, c128 in general).

I'm not really a barcodes person and I generally work with the hardware but I thought that I would see if there was any way I could do it. Seemed like such an easy task at first since you can program pretty much anything as a preamble/postamble on the scanner but it quickly became a pain when just trying to get a barcode for them by themselves.

Honestly, I'm just looking to get those two barcodes to make life a little easier on the order fillers so I'm not looking to buy a package, at least not at this time. I don't really care what symbology I have to use but I was figuring c39 (enhanced) or c128.

Operating System: Windows 7, 64 bit

There are several ways to encode a space into a barcode. The easiest and most common solution is to use the Barcode Image Generator, select the Code 128 symbology/barcode type, and hit the space bar to create a barcode that scans as a space. You can also encode the space using ASCII.

1. Download and install the Image Generator.

2. Run the application and select Code 128 for the Symbology ID.

3. Place a checkmark in the ApplyTilde option.

4. Refer to the ASCII Chart to determine the function that you would like to encode. The space character is 32.

5. To properly encode this character into the generator, enter ~032. When the generator sees the ~, it will know a function is going to be encoded.

NOTE: To encode the carriage return, use ~013. For a horizontal tab, use ~009.
