My customer is planning to use QR code

2019 Update: IDAutomation now offers the (SSRS Native Barcode Generator) which stays embedded in the report and runs locally without the need for the CRI, which has been discontinued.

I am a consultant to a number of ERP customers. I have a customer that is being asked to use QR codes on their packing slips. The code would at a minimum contain the customer's PO number, the item (S) on the packing slip, a release number for each item, a quantity, etc.

The packing slip is currently in MS Reporting Services. I would like to know what would be required to create the code, print it on the packing slip, and read the code.

I am hoping for a single-source supplier.

Tim	Best Answer Our Reporting Services CRI will be the best solution for creating the QRCode symbol on the report. This component fully integrates with Reporting Services and can be added to the toolbox. Once added the QRCode can be dragged and dropped onto the report. See this page for the user guide. https://www.idautomation.com/barcode-components/reporting-services-cri/user-manual.html An evaluation version is also available if you would like to test it first. To read the data from the scanner I recommend the IDAutomation SC7 2D scanner. This plug-and-play scanner connects to the computer via USB and is a keyboard emulator. The scanner is priced at $299.00, the hands-free stand can be purchased for $25.00, and the 4-year extended warranty is $29.00.
