Oracle PLL produces Arabic characters

Hi,

I have a problem with the output from the package. It's returning Arabic characters like:

SELECT IDAUTOMATION.CODE128('1001') FROM DUAL

and the result is "جا*!4خ"

Thanks,

What is the language setting for the computer generating the Code 128 encoded data with the Oracle Reports PLL for Barcode Fonts? Change the language to American.

If you are running Oracle Reports 9i and up, we have an option that produces barcode images--Java Barcode Component--instead of the font and encoder option.

If you are working in XML Publisher, then you may want to consider using the Java Component and stream the image using our servlet implementation. This solution will generate an image that seems to be the only option for the situation.
