When I create a GS1 barcode, all AIs are being read as an FNC.

I am using your barcode product to generate GS1-128 barcodes. However, when I send the barcodes for scanning, they are telling me that all of the AIs are scanning as FNC. What can I do?

For example, in the barcode (01)235123(10)3234879374(91)34983948 the (01) is the only one that should be read as an FNC but the (10) and the (91) are also being read as FNC.

If the FNC1 is not required for fixed-length fields, you can leave them out, meaning leaving the parentheses around the AIs, etc out of the fixed length and including them in the variable fields.

If you need to have them recognized, you can encode a Group Separator in its place. Here is an example:

(01)235123~029103234879374~0299134983948

You would still encode the FNC1 using parentheses or ~212.

When encoding FNC and separators, you will want to ensure that you have the ApplyTilde parameter--depending on the product you are using--set to True, 1, Yes, or checked. ApplyTilde allows you to use the ~ symbol to encode FNC, separators, and other functions such as Tabs and Returns.
