PDF417 Byte Compaction Mode Question

How does the byte compaction mode work?

I have source data like this in a string (srcData)= 010000000000061A8090A34D5C7871CE2F395C9A75F.... with a length of 260 characters.

I need to generate a PDF417 (truncated) with 130 bytes of data from this source.
After the call of the method Barcode.Fontencode(srcData, 4, 10, 15, 1, (int)_PDFModeValue.Binary, 0, out test) the text of a text-box is set to the output text. The generated PDF417 shows the data encoded as text. The reading result of my scanner is 260 characters, the same as the source data. That's not the expected result. Is used the Font= IDAutomationPDF417n3, Size = 8.

A test with a PDF417 generator generates the code in an image with 130 bytes. That's the expected result. But I need your product as a font generator, not an Image Generator.

The result should always equal the source, 260 characters. If it does not, there is data loss somewhere. If it is the compaction you are referring to, It sounds to me that the data is not being encoded properly in the proper format. Double-check the encoding settings and compare them with the Image Generator package.

Keep in mind, if you are using the free demo version, it encodes the word “DEMO” in the data. which can increase the amount of data encoded.
