Create QR Code in Crystal Reports with Fonts and Formula

How to create QR Code barcodes in Crystal Reports using the QR Code Font and Encoder Package (barcode fonts and barcode font formulas).

The example post explains how to install the QR Code Font and Encoder Package to generate barcodes in Crystal Reports.

NOTE: The licensed version includes the font formula and User Function Library (UFL) solution. The demo version includes only includes the UFL (User Function Library) uses.

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL

1. Download the QR Code Font and Encoder Package (Demo or Sale)

2. Right-click the file and select Extract All.

3. Continue through the Extraction process.


4. To install the Font (IDAutomation2D) and encoders, double-click the IDAutomation_QRCodeFontEncoder.exe and run through the installation process.

CREATING BARCODE IN CRYSTAL REPORTS
(The solution is compatible with Crystal Reports 9 and up)

1. Return to the unzipped IDAutomation QRCode Font and Encoder product and then open the IDAutomation_QRCodeFontEncoder folder.

2. Open the Integration folder.

3. Double-click the Crystal Reports Formulas.rpt.

4. Right-click the barcode report object, then select Copy. Access the Native Code Object encoder (font formula) solution.

5. Open your own Crystal Reports file, right-click the report, and choose paste.

6. Right-click the barcode object and select Edit Formula.

7. In the Formula Editor menu, set the report to Basic Syntax. If it is set to Crystal Syntax, the report produces an error.

8. Set the DataToEncode variable to your own data or data field.

9. Select Save and close to return to the report.

How to Concatenate Data Example

Place the plus or ampersand symbol between fields or data.

How to Encode Functions from the ASCII Table Example
1. Set ProcTilde = 1.
2. Encode functions using the format ~dxxx where xxx is the ASCII value to use. The example encodes a RETURN ~d013 and a TAB ~d009.

Barcode displays as letters
If the field displays as letters instead of a barcode, select the barcode font..
