Package to be installed on

Hello,

a while ago we purchased a developer license for your QR Code Font and Encoder Suite.
Until now I'm the only one who uses it to print QR codes out of Crystal Reports as I'm developing new labels which should go live soon.

After purchase, we downloaded some .zip files. My colleagues from IT used the files included in "IDAutomation_QRCodeFontEncoder_SilentInstall" to install it on my machine. I have everything available to print QR codes. I'm wondering what they have to install on each workstation where labels with QR codes should be printed. If I try to print on a workstation with nothing installed I receive a notice about a missing u212com.dll and the label is not printed.
Which package do we have to install? I guess it might not be the silent install. Our IT will need to find a way to include Installation in their automated software distribution routines. I just want to be sure that everything is within the license regulations.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Your company owns a Developer License. You can install it on up to 10,000 user stations. The UFL and font must be installed on every machine attempting to create and display the barcode.

Hello Ben,

your QR Code Font and Encoder Suite was recommended to us by our ERP software provider. They seem to have other customers also using it together with Crystal Reports.

It's still not clear to me: Is it within the license regulations to install the "silent install" package on each local workstation that needs to print QR codes? As this package is installed on my local workstation and I can print QR codes without any problem I guess it would be the best solution.

There may be issues with using some UFLs on ERP systems which will most likely produce the u212com or u2lcom DLL issues. We have spoken with SAP and there has been no full solution for the UFL and font solution.

We have a QR Code Native Generator solution that generates barcode by using code only (it does not use DLLs).

Hello Ben,

thanks for your feedback! As mentioned our IT has used the silent install version to install it on my machine.
On my machine, I can print QR codes from Crystal Reports and also from our ERP system. I have the idautomationqrcode.dll in my system32 Folder and also the u212com.dll in the SAP BusinessObjects folder.

Can our IT use the silent installer to install it on the machines where labels will be printed? This will of course copy all required files but I'm not sure if this right method (I'm just wondering if there is a separate Installation method between "developer" and "users".

The QR Code Font and Encoder Developer License includes the Silent install capability. This installs the fonts and the font encoders. After using the silent install, are you able to view the IDAutomation dlls in the system32 or SysWOW64 folders? If the IDAutomation QR Code UFL files reside in these folders and the u212com.dll occurs, then Crystal cannot access these dlls. If this is the case, the font and encoder UFL solution is not an option for your setup. We have other product options such as a solution that uses code to produce the barcode (with no DLLs involved).
