Best Answer

If the IDAutomation2D QR Code does not install, download the 2D Universal Font.

1. Extract the file and navigate to the TrueType folder:

2. Right-click the IDAutomation2D.ttf font file and choose the Install option.

I paste it into Word, and I can't apply IDAutomation2D to it. IDAutomation2D is not in my font list. How can I put the IDAutomation2D into my fonts directory?

Thanks

Double-check to make sure that the font is still available in your Fonts directory.

As a test, take this data and paste it into Wordpad or Word or a Text Editor:

AHEEEHAPGOOEFPAHEEEHA
BNFFFNBPADFKEPBNFFFNB
FJIPDLFDCJAEKGDDEDLJD
EFFNFFEPBGDHLBDOMHBMD
APBBBPAPHNHPDCLGMADLL
HHHHHHHPHPPPPPHPPPPPH

and see if you can apply the IDAutomation2D font.

No problem Yan.

Once the font is installed, physically re-apply the font to the formula field. Here is an example:

When you select the field that has the encoded data, what font is set?

Hi Ben:
this happened to one of my laptops, Once the QR Code Font Package is installed, the sample Crystal Report supplied with the product ( Crystal Example.rpt) shows all characters like AABBCCUUDDD, not the QR bar code image. I have the bar code font (IDAutomation_Universal2DBarcodeFont)downloaded and extracted. please let me know what may be missing from that laptop.
I don't know how to install the font, there is no exe file to run under the IDAutomation_Universal2DBarcodeFont folder.
the QR Code Font Package has been installed.

Please help.

Thanks

Yan

Because you have two separate posts, it is a bit confusing. There is another post that mentions you are using the .NET version of Crystal. If they're two different issues, I shall treat them as such. For this situation, I assume that you have Crystal Reports directly on your machine. Once the QR Code Font Package is installed, are you able to open the sample Crystal Report supplied with the product? If so, what font is applied to the field that should be the barcode? Verify that you are able to apply the IDAutomation 2D font to the data. If this font file is not present, then there may have been an issue during installation. If so, you may download the font here.

no, this is not from the VS.net crystal report, it is a standalone crystal report, with no report viewer involved.

If you are viewing the report directly (no Crystal Viewer involved), then verify the font is applied. If the font is applied to the encoded data, it will display the barcode. If you are viewing through Crystal Viewer, then unfortunately, the issue may not be able to be resolved as I do not know if the viewer will be able to embed the custom font.

If you are running Crystal XI and up, consider creating the barcode as an image using a Streaming Solution.

no, this is not for export to PDF, it is for the crystal report itself. event the example report does not show the QR bar code after the encoder and font are installed.

Thanks

Is the report that includes the QR Code barcode created as a PDF? If so, it is possible that the font is not embedded in the PDF document. When the font is not embedded, the encoded data is displayed. If the report is not displayed as a PDF, verify the font is installed on the client PC that is attempting to display the report.
