Barcode with special characters


We wish to scan barcodes with special characters e.g. NAVEEN_+*()hkk ... we know that we have to include * as post and pre-script. however, we are not able to scan barcodes when a special character is in the data. we have a lot of our part numbers with special characters. how can we make it scanable? we tried both barcodes 39 as well as 128 without successful results.

The asterisk character is a control character in Code 39 so you cannot use it in that symbology. However, when using the Code 128 Font it should work. The symbols attached do not scan because the data needs to be formatted with a Font Encoder. The font encoder will format the data to the font.
