2023 Security Update for .NET Assembly DLLs

IDAutomation has identified possible security vulnerabilities in some IDAutomation .NET Assembly DLLs and .NET Generator DLLs. The vulnerabilities have been identified by BinSkim, a binary analysis tool. The analysis reported that the DLLs contained PE section(s) that are both writable and executable. Writable and executable memory segments make it easier for an attacker to exploit memory corruption vulnerabilities because they could provide an attacker executable location(s) to inject shellcode.

The vulnerabilities have been corrected; the new DLLs are located in the following areas:

For linear barcodes, the DLL is located in the "IDAutomation_.NET Assembly" folder of the Developer Tools ZIP file.

For all 2D barcodes, the DLL is located in the ".NET Assembly Signed" folder of the Developer Tools ZIP file.

To obtain the new files, log in to the store and download the latest Developer Tools ZIP file from the product you ordered. If you do not have access to download you must purchase Level 2 Priority Support for that product to obtain the latest version.
