.NET Generator Major Update - Streaming API .NET 8+


IDAutomation has released a major update to the .NET Barcode Generator. The update provides a .NET 8+ API, providing high-performance, cross-platform architecture for .NET 8+ ASP.NET Core hosting environments. The API generates HTTP endpoints that dynamically stream directly to the HTTP response based on the I= query string parameter. A stand-alone EXE is also provided that streams without IIS.

Barcode Image Output (Default). Streams server-side rendered image bytes directly through the pipeline. Defaults to the PNG image type. Set I=BMP to return a light, 1-bit monochrome image/bmp payload.

Font-Encoded Text Output (I=FT). Returns raw text string payloads for IDAutomation barcode fonts. Integrate this payload with client-side WOFF/web-font assets to offload rendering logic entirely to the browser canvas/DOM and reduce overall network footprint.

Unicode Glyph Output (I=UI). Returns generated Unicode character sequences to allow inline text field rendering inside restrictive UI frameworks, canvas elements, or sandboxed environments that block external font-face definitions or static image resources.
