Reporting Services barcode does not appear on deployed report from report server

2019 Update: IDAutomation now offers the (SSRS Native Barcode Generator) which stays embedded in the report and runs locally without the need for the CRI, which has been discontinued.

We have the linear barcode for reporting services installed. On my test machine, everything is working fine. In my .Net application and I can preview and print the barcode with no problems whatsoever. But on the actual reporting server, once I deploy the report, the barcode no longer appears when I try to preview or print the report from the report server. I have installed the dll and the entries as specified on the installation instructions on the report server as well, but that didn't help either.

Another client of ours with the same problem found a fix.
It would appear that the reference to the dll needs to be in the first code group.
Here is the code he used in the rssrvpolicy.config file:

<CodeGroup class="FirstMatchCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="Nothing">
<IMembershipCondition class="AllMembershipCondition" version="1" />

<CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="FullTrust"
Description="This code group grants IDAutomation_ReportingServices_BarcodeCRI.dll FUllTrust permission. ">
<IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition" version="1"
Url="C:Program
FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.3Reporting
ServicesReportServerbinIDAutomation_ReportingServices_BarcodeCRI.dll"
/>
</CodeGroup>

<CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="Execution" Name="Report_Expressions_Default_Permissions"
Description="This code group grants default permissions for code in report expressions and Code element. ">
<IMembershipCondition class="StrongNameMembershipCondition" version="1"
PublicKeyBlob="...
</CodeGroup>
<CodeGroup
class="FirstMatchCodeGroup" version="1" Permissi...etc...

..etc...ription="This code group grants SharePoint Server code full trust. ">
<IMembershipCondition
class="StrongNameMembershipCondition"
version="1"
PublicKeyBlob="... />
</CodeGroup>
</CodeGroup>
</CodeGroup>
