Barcode displays e character instead of FNC1 and GS

A case has been reported when using the SSRS Native Generator to create GS1 Data Matrix barcodes where, upon scanning, the barcode returns the FNC1 / GS character as an “e”.
We were unable to reproduce this behavior in our own environment; however, the customer was able to resolve the issue with the following workaround.

Workaround

In the Reports tab, edit the code and change the FNC1 constant from an extended ASCII value to the standard ASCII Group Separator:

Const FNC1 As Integer = 232
Change to
Const FNC1 As Integer = 29

Save. Run Report.

If you encounter similar behavior, this change may resolve it.
