DataMatrix is decoding "e" instead FNC1 for GS1 from SSRS

Hello, I have a problem with the proper coding of data to encode as DataMatrix GS1 code in SSRS. I attached a file that contains data, every time I choose mode 0 or 3, it's encoding "e" instead FNC1 and GS. We are using the SSRS Native Barcode Generator.

I tested the proposed solution, which involved creating a report on a machine in the US, and it turned out that everything worked correctly in the report created in the US. Apparently, the problem stems from specific local settings in Poland.

Ad. 1 I'm connected to a server but not in report, and I think it doesn't matter cause the data for the barcode is entered manually

Thank you for providing the additional details. While the process is a bit tedious, it does help us better understand what’s occurring within the report and during barcode generation.

Based on what we’re seeing, even when using default parameters, the ~1 appears to be converting to an e in your environment. We’ve attempted to recreate this behavior using the same files but have been unable to reproduce the issue on our end.

We believe the behavior may be environment-related. To help narrow this down, could you please let us know:

1. Are you connected to a server when opening or running the report?
2. The language and regional settings of the server (if applicable)
3. The language and regional settings of your local workstation
4. The system and OS you're using.

We have not encountered this behavior previously, and since we’re unable to recreate it internally, verifying the environment and language settings may help identify the cause.

At this point, there’s no indication that the barcode shown could have been generated from the data string provided, as it is decoding as the wrong format. There seems to be a disconnect so let's return to the basics.

Please remove any additional parameters added outside of the barcode expression and test using only the raw hard-coded data with default settings. Enter the data directly, without added parameters.

To continue troubleshooting, please provide the following from the same test run:

1. A screenshot of the barcode expression used in the report
2. A screenshot of the barcode as rendered in SSRS after running the report
3. A screenshot of the scan results from that exact barcode

This will allow us to verify that the encoded data, rendered barcode, and scan results all align.

Based on the scan results, the barcode does not appear to contain the same data as the string you provided, as it is decoding as a Format 9 symbol but the expression you provided was Format 8.

Please provide the exact data string being encoded in the barcode shown, along with a screenshot of the barcode expression used in the report. This will help verify the source of the encoded data.

We also recommend testing the same data in a clean RDL report for comparison, as this can help determine whether the value is being pulled or modified from a table or expression prior to encoding.

Your code is OK, and my phone with BDDV reads it correctly. Attachments are a result of scanning your code and DataMatrixCode as a result of my RDL decoding - it's really different from your code image image

Thank you for sharing the screenshot of the scan results. To help us troubleshoot further, we’ll also need to see the barcode image itself.

We tested the exact data string and parameters you provided, along with testing other encoding modes and are consistently getting a clean scan of the GS1 Data Matrix Barcode. I've attached our barcode which was generated using the formula: =Code.IDAutomation_SSRS_DataMatrix("~1911845~1241220004145~1100~1112509293036000~140063196~194108",1,0,8) and our scan for reference.

Please provide a screenshot of the barcode you are generating so we can continue investigating. Also, verifiy the scanner is set to 'show special chars' and 'Process GS1 code' within the settings.
