Create Barcode using the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS

How do I set up the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS to create barcodes on Windows 11?

This post explains to developers how to produce barcodes in IIS using the IDAutomation Streaming Barcode Server for IIS.

Before starting the step-by-step post:

• Download the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS (demo or purchase license).
• Extract the zip file. This example uses the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS 2D version.

Step-by-Step:

1. Navigate to C:inetpubwwwroot.

2. Create a project folder name.

3. Access the Streaming Barcode Server for IIS product and navigate to the barcode types.

4. Copy the barcode type's ASPX and bin (includes Server Control and CSStream DLLS) and paste it into your project folder.

5. Return to the project root, right-click the folder, and select Properties.

6. Select the Security tab, Edit, and in the Permissions Window, select Add.

7. In the Enter the object names to select, type "NETWORK SERVICE" and choose OK. Set Permissions.

8. Select Apply and OK.

9. Run the Internet Information Services Manager (IIS).

10. In the Connections panel, expand the Computer Name, right-click Sites, and select Add Website.

11. Create a virtual directory name.

12. In the Content Directory, select the ellipsis and then navigate to the physical project created in step 2 and choose the folder. Select OK. This process links the virtual directory to the physical directory

13. Select OK. If a message appears related to Add Website binding, choose Yes.

14. If the Status for the Site is Stopped(http), select the Start option in the Manage Website section in the Actions Panel.

15. Right-click the site, and then select Manage Website - Browse.

16. Enter the streaming ASPX page URL into the browser address window:
http://localhost/IDAutomationStreamingLinear.aspx?
